The belts don’t really mean all that much. The highest degrees of black belts are more of a sign of how much you have given to the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu and to the community. Not so much about how good you are at grappling.

These guys don’t currently fight cause there like 60 or 70,so maybe these gus won’t be good enough for you but there’s renato paquet and alvaro barretto who have bjj red belts. There are only hand full of guys that have a red belt with whatever degree they have. So guys like royce gracie and renzo gracie will probably get there’s when there 60 or 70. There’s more but can’t remember.

No one. It’s unlikely anyone will obtain the 9th degree before they are too old to compete. Royce Gracie is a 7th degree so he’s probably the highest to have competed in recent times, of currently active fighters I imagine Renzo Gracie’s 6th degree belt is the highest (and note that both those guys are in their 40s, so you can imagine what age one must be to obtain 9th degree). Anyway, degrees above black belt are generally given for time in grade rather than continued technical improvement – and some instructors/organizations don’t award degrees at all, just a basic black belt. So having a red belt is more of an honorary distinction than an indication of extraordinary grappling ability.
9th degree red belt is the highest possible for anyone currently living to obtain. The 10th degree red belt is reserved for the Gracie brothers, the original founders of the art (all now deceased).

I don’t think anybody in MMA has been promoted higher than a 2nd degree black belt aside from Demian Maia and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The rare red belt is given when you have achieved ninth and tenth degree practitioners.
The highest degree of black belt one can get is 10th degree which hasn’t been given to anyone but Helio and Carlos who are the founders of BJJ. Tenth degree is reserved only for Helio and Carlos. Ninth degree has been given to special BJJ practitioners who have been given to a few more people but is very rare to obtain because it’s only given on behalf of special cases. I believe the statement "for those whose influence and fame takes them to the pinnacle of the art" has been used to define a 9th degree black belt.
