really? wouldnt you be exposing your entire stomach and face for attacks? i mean i know boxers do this a lot but its very dangerous to expose yourself like that when the opponent kicks too. isnt it?

its the fastest but you also have to be more defensively aware oppose to facing your opponent sideways because your body is exposed, your a larger target, also, when in a side stance you have the ability of generating power from your hips and shoulders. this stance may be effective for cqb but id rather use the side stance

Reply, for every attack there is a counter.. You can not cover youorself 100% unless you go underground. The best defense is offense, facing forward is non-telegraphic and much faster. In Close Quater Combat you need to develop power at nose to nose range.. Not everyone shapes up to the side like in the movies.. actually, I’ve never seen it. And thats 7 years working on the doors!

It sounds like you should stick to TKD or whatever you do, you will be safe there.. You have a supervisor and most likely pads etc.. Look at the comment I wrote below.
